The opportunity:

You will own People Operations working closely with the CEO with a seat at the leadership table and will lead, coach and help guide a fantastic team of 3 highly capable, talented and passionate individuals in support of the BlueDot culture.

You can see the big picture and bring empathy and care to every interaction. You have helped scale organizations in the past and understand what fast paced really means, can pivot on a dime and roll with the ebbs and tides of change. You will focus on learning, growth and development with the existing team and are a leader who understands how to balance the needs of the business and the needs of the people to continue to build a great place to work where employees are immersed in an inclusive environment.

Who we are: 


BlueDot protects people around the world from infectious diseases using human and artificial intelligence. Our software-as-a-service solution combines medical and public health expertise with advanced data analytics to track, contextualize, and mitigate infectious disease risks. Our global early warning system combines more than 100 datasets with proprietary algorithms to deliver critical insights on the spread of infectious diseases. In December 2019, we flagged an undiagnosed respiratory syndrome in Wuhan, China. In January 2020, we published the world's first scientific paper on COVID-19, accurately predicting its global spread.

What you will do in more detail:

  • Translate our business strategy into a roadmap for our people team to execute including developing and supporting P&C initiatives related to talent acquisition, organizational development, rewards and recognition, change management, succession planning, compensation & benefits, and legislative requirements
  • Work closely with BlueDot's CEO to augment our culture first strategy that drives team member retention and engagement to maintain a truly inclusive environment so people are able to do their best work
  • Coach executives and be an effective business partner to advise on people strategies and continue to build out practices and programs to attract, accelerate and retain BlueDot's exceptional talent
    • Lead our P&C team by empowering and leveraging their strengths to in order to exceed departmental OKRs
    • Initiate and champion opportunities to further diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging across BlueDot
    • Provide objective and strategic input and guidance to team members across BlueDot including career development and mentorship
    • Partner with the legal team to implement and manage compliance efforts with all labor laws and regulations that govern private companies
    • Ensure our people practices continue to be innovative, supportive and leading edge
    • Increase BlueDot’s presence by integrating our employer brand deeply into the community through speaking events, mentorship, and other community driven initiatives

    We are working fully remotely due to COVID-19 until at least January 2022 – post pandemic we will continue with our remote first culture with the opportunity for a hybrid/flexible office space in downtown Toronto accessible to our team but without the requirement to work from the office.
