BlueDot is growing and as a result we are looking for a Talent Acquisition Specialist to join our team to support BlueDot’s full cycle talent acquisition activities.


Reporting to the Vice President, People and Culture, you will work cross-functionally with all teams supporting talent acquisition requirements through effective results-driven talent sourcing strategies tied to our growth. You will ensure an exceptional candidate experience that aligns with BlueDot’s values and culture and will support employer brand initiatives through various channels

Who we are: 
BlueDot protects people around the world from infectious diseases using human and artificial intelligence. Our software-as-a-service solution combines medical and public health expertise with advanced data analytics to track, contextualize, and mitigate infectious disease risks. Our global early warning system combines more than 100 datasets with proprietary algorithms to deliver critical insights on the spread of infectious diseases. In December 2019, we flagged an undiagnosed respiratory syndrome in Wuhan, China. In January 2020, we published the world's first scientific paper on COVID-19, accurately predicting its global spread. Our team understands the complexity of the challenge in front of us – and that the urgency to solve the problem has never been greater.

What you will do in more detail


  • Manage the Talent Acquisition process for all assigned roles from scorecard development through to offer and every step in between
  • Manage the Candidate Experience for all assigned roles using the BlueDot approach
  • Proactively build and manage pipeline of talent for future needs in support of all current and future roles at BlueDot
  • Develop an understanding of our business needs and each role in order to find the right talent for BlueDot
  • Build strong relationships with internal clients
  • Identify perceived difficulties with searches and research solutions by collaborating with leadership and hiring manager as appropriate
  • Coach hiring managers and anyone involved in interviewing at BlueDot on the interview process, interview skills and candidate communication
  • Support all DEI efforts in alignment with our DEI strategy and talent acquisition goals
  • Work closely with the People and Culture team and marketing to support employer branding campaigns/initiatives for social platforms (LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram), BlueDot’s website and internal communications
  • As part of the People and Culture team, participate in various projects as identified in BlueDot’s people strategy/roadmap and OKRs


What you bring to BlueDot

  • Passionate about wanting to help make the world healthier, safer, and more prosperous
  • Alignment with our vision and our values
  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources or business and/or equivalent relevant experience
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of results oriented full-cycle talent acquisition experience preferably working in-house in a fast-paced start-up/scale-up environment
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience using ATS, LinkedIn and HRIS systems (BambooHR preferred)
  • Expertise in social recruiting and networking using traditional and innovative sourcing methods
  • Proven experience supporting talent acquisition in technical roles
  • Experience supporting campus recruiting initiative and programs
  • Possess a strong sense of confidentiality, integrity and the ability to deal with sensitive information
  • Exceptional interpersonal, negotiation and relationship skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite of products
  • Work with others to deliver results, meaningfully contributing to the team and prioritizing group needs over individual needs
  • Possess resilience, is calm under pressure and has a tolerance for change and ambiguity to effectively cope with change continuing to find ways to advance work and projects
  • Focus time and energy on the most important issues and opportunities and clearly understand how to assess the importance of tasks and decisions

We are working fully remotely due to COVID-19 until at least January 2022 – post pandemic we will continue with our remote first culture with the opportunity for a hybrid/flexible office space in downtown Toronto accessible to our team but without the requirement to work from the office.
